"First Lutheran Responders" are church work teams who respond to any sort of construction needs locally or globally. Some examples of our work include:
Local Habitat For Humanity Builds
We are currently gathering names of those whom are interested in participating in a Fremont-area Habitat For Humanity work day.
Summer Camp Work Projects
On Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 am to 1 pm congregational member Garry Tomasek is leading a group of people to Camp Carol Joy Holling to get the site ready for summer camp. From fence repair to cleaning to planting flowers, the staff and fellow volunteers make this just plain fun work! There will be a free lunch for all workers. Please contact Garry Tomasek or Pastor Matt as soon as possible so we can be sure to include you. You can also sign up for this one on our “green sheets”.
Summer Work Trips
The possibility of a summer work trip is being planned for June or July 2010. If you would like to help with the planning of this, or know of an area that we could offer service to, please contact Pastor Matt.
In the future, we also hope that "First Lutheran Responders" can be dispatched to areas of immediate need (i.e.: to areas of natural disasters or other devastations).
We also hope that this team will be able to address local as-needed, special-case construction projects (i.e.: simple home repairs/fixes for those in need).
Please contact Pastor Matt to be included in "First Lutheran Responders" events. We could use your help! We are also looking for a volunteer who would be willing to be the leader of this team!
