Our Church Endowment  

Nearly twenty years ago a group of visionaries from First Lutheran Church
created the First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. The idea of an
endowment fund is to create gifts that continue to give. The corpus of the
fund can be used only by a 2/3 vote of the congregation. Thus, only the
income from the fund is made available for distribution.

The First Lutheran Endowment Fund distributions are divided into four
areas:

- major capital improvement for FLC
- scholarships and grants to First Lutheran Church members (preference
to those attending ELCA colleges and seminaries)
- outreach into the community
- missions

There is presently money available for distribution. Each application is to be
presented to the Senior Pastor of First Lutheran Church and the pastor will
present the application to the First Lutheran Church Endowment Board. The
board will consider each application and act in the best interests of the fund.
